The most important decision happens in a flick of the eye. It can be a simple question of which college major to choose, then which job to take, whom to love and trust, and what business decisions are needed to make for survival. As we mature, the room for error narrows itself.

While some decisions have fleeting consequences, others can be detrimental for a lifetime. Sometimes, we wish we have the Time-Turner like Harry Potter — to rehearse back, see the signs, and be able to synthesize them before forming our decisions. Although the dream of having the fiction Time-Turner is farfetched, we can still have that magic — the spell that calls critical thinking.

And yes, even magic needs training, so does our critical thinking. Although list of the methods to train our critical thinking is as long as the pages of human civilization, the 2 tools mentioned in this article are the ones that meet these 3 criteria: survive the test of time, tested in the scientific application, and lastly, does not involve consuming substances.
