I drink,

To understand this world

Je bois,

To comprehend the beauty of unsaid words

Và tôi uống,

To myself, to the loss I have had.

Beer

I cheer to our friendship

1, for the sharing that you make;

2, for the caring that you give;

And 3, please dedicate health

For whoever out there

That understands the aroma of burnt wheat

For whoever out there

That surpasses the burn mark of one’s past.

Thé

I devout to my soulmate

The warm sip of entwined thoughts;

The unsaid appreciation

I prolong to express;

The blossoming colors

Unable to convey by banal words.

Je prends ton thé

With the finest I handpicked.

Cà phê

Please give to myself

A silent note

In the midst of this misery world

Xin hãy tặng bản thân

A little love, a little thought,

A little

Of everything I have had.

A little

Of yesterday’s memory

Of tomorrow’s subtlety

And of today’s

Presence.

19 May 2015. My final assignment for AP Language & Composition class.
