Why Human Needs Humans
The history of “why does human need more humans?” in 5 minutes.
The question first stemmed its root in my mind when my friend asked me — “When will you plan to have your first child?”
She was not alone. While it is crystal-clear that the necessity of having your extra little human in the world of 7.9 billion humans (per United Nations’ latest estimate) is a social construct, what intrigues me is the real reason why the notion is birthed. Spanning through the human course of history, humans always reproduce, want to reproduce, and find ways to make sure our reproductions survive and thrive (fun fact: do you know in the pages of history, we have nearly 200 known fertility deities across cultures?).
Hence, this article is born to answer the question of what do we need humans for.
